Manawatu Mathex 2009
On the 14th of August 2009. 10 children from Lytton street school participated in this very interesting event. They were there to do maths. In Mathex there are 48 schools and each school team has 4 children. For Lytton street the Year Five and Six teams both came 8th. This is a big jump from last year, both teams finished outside the top 15. In this event you start off with 15 min to do some practical maths and then another 15 minutes to do some quickfire questions. This is also a difficult event to parcitapate in and you have to be good at maths. I love being part of the team and enjoy working with all the other children from different classes.
