The 16th of June. Room 14 and half of Room 12 and all of Room 15 went to the Marae. Ocean, Milly, Corilee and myself had to travel in mr Roberts' car because there was no more room on the bus. My uncle had to go with Mrs Trembath in her car. When we got there we went into the Wharekai and put our bags away. Next we went and had a look outside at all the carving. Next we went into Wharenui and had a look at the Koro Patterns, they were awesome. Later we went and had something to eat in the wharekai. After morning tea we did waiata while we were waiting for the bus to arrive. Next we got in to Mr Roberts' car and went back to school.
The Marae visit on the 16th of June 2009. Room 14 went to the Aorangi Marae along with half of Room 12 and all of Room 15 . We all loaded up into the bus and there wasn't enough room for everybody so Mr Roberts [our teacher] took four people in his car. They included Ocean, Rose,Corliee and myself . When we got there we all hopped out of the car and waited for everyone else to arrive. Rose and I were holding the box with Room 14's shared morning tea and the Marae booklets.
We sat on the seat waiting and waiting for them to arrive. They arrived walking in a line lead by Miss Kao. We hopped into the line and went into the wharekai. We took a seat and I was sitting next to Kahlei . Mrs Kao gave us the rules. The Lady said a prayer and we got into our classrooms groups. We all got our booklets and went out side and did a few tasks. We finished in the Wharenui and then we went to have morning tea. After our shared morning tea we did some Waiati (singing). Then we all piled back into the bus and came back to school. by Milly
